Dr. Cook is an Interventional Radiologist specializing in minimally invasive techniques to treat vascular diseases, enhance blood flow, improve wound healing, and alleviate walking pain. He also employs these techniques to reduce blood flow and deliver targeted therapies to abnormal or enlarged tissues, such as tumors, prostates, and fibroids.

His passion for Interventional Radiology began in medical school, where he earned the Dean’s Award for Academic Achievement and the John Faunce Roach Award for Excellence in Radiology. As a resident and fellow, Dr. Cook quickly demonstrated a talent for minimally invasive procedures and teaching, earning the Fellow’s Teaching Award before being recruited to join the staff.

In his early career, Dr. Cook played a key role in establishing the Hepatobiliary Multidisciplinary Group at Denver Health, where he served as co-chair until his departure. He was a pioneering figure in early vascular stroke care, performing the first mechanical stroke thrombectomy at Denver Health.

Dr. Cook has held numerous clinical roles in vascular disease, women's health, oncology, dialysis, and trauma. He also served as Division Chief of Interventional Radiology, where he led the development of a multidisciplinary vascular team focused on both traumatic and non-traumatic aortic disease. Throughout his career, Dr. Cook has published articles, contributed a book chapter, delivered numerous lectures, and trained many classes of residents and fellows. He has been recognized multiple times as a “Top Doc” by 5280 Magazine, including in 2024.

 

Currently, Dr. Cook sits on the board of directors for Colorado Imaging Associates, where he serves as Finance Chair. He is also the Medical Director of Colorado Advanced Endovascular. With his extensive clinical and business experience, Dr. Cook serves as a consultant for various companies. His passion lies in elevating those around him, striving to make the lives of patients, providers, teams, and organizations incrementally better.
