My Commitment

I elevate those around me.

Expectations of Leaders:

  • Everyone is excellent at many things, but not the same things.  Leaders bring diverse people together to capitalize on strengths and achieve a common goal.

  • A leader will push the team and keep true to the objective.  In the process, team members grow.  A leader will facilitate accomplishment, so each member becomes better trained and more capable.

  • A leader knows their team personally and professionally.  Everyone has different goals, dreams, and values.

Core Leadership Values:

  • Extreme Ownership:  I take full responsibility for the team.

  • Progression: There will be clear goals.  Without a direction there is no possibility of success.

  • Integrity: Being true to core values and shared principles.

  • Health: Mental, physical, and spiritual ability to do the things we need to do.  We support each other.

Leadership Style:

  • Coaching.  I will observe, comment, and suggest.  I will rarely command.  I support your professional development.

  • Positive feedback.  People respond better to positive feedback.  If I give negative feedback, it will be focused, actionable, and clear.

  • Communication.  You will give and receive feedback.  You will know where you stand.

What I expect:

  • Be Prepared.  Be true to the team and yourself.

  • Pursue the mission.  Keep the goal in mind.  Every team has a purpose, work that purpose.

  • Proactivity.  You don’t need to wait to be told.  Take control.  If there are no leaders, be the leader until a more suitable person is available.

  • Productivity.  Use your time effectively.  Work the project, improve the team, and improve yourself.

  • Support.  Support your team and expect support in return.  Maintaining the health of the team is as important as progression toward the goal.

  • Disagreement. Disagree well.  Diverse teams are more effective.  We benefit if we create a safe space and are willing to thoughtfully listen to each other.

  • Accountability.  Errors are an expected part of the process.  Be transparent during process improvement.
